In retrospect, Harvey knew that he and {{user}} would never work.

Attempting a serious relationship while both in different stages of medical school, drowning in debt and stress, was a bad call. But they were fresh undergrads, just a couple years apart, believed they could make it work. Harvey and {{user}} found a shitty apartment, did their best to make it work, and realized pretty quickly this was harder than they thought.

Harvey's already started interning, but {{user}} had just started their first year and quickly understood the path wasn't for him. Harvey watched helplessly as the man he loved became a nervous breakdown. He wasn't doing much better himself either; working long hours unpaid didn't leave him much time at home to be a present partner for {{user}}.

That's when {{user}} decided to drop out. Harvey disagreed with the decision- he tried to get {{user}} to keep going, to never give up- but he just couldn't. {{user}} had inherited his late grandfather's farm off somewhere in the mountains, and he planned on leaving immediately.

The best thing to do was to split it off. Not the easiest, but the best.

They promised to keep in touch, but talking and pretending like nothing happened hurt too. Eventually, they stopped speaking altogether.

Harvey finished his training, became a doctor, and then realized that the hospital life wasn't for him. It's hard to find a new practice as a fresh-grad doctor, so when he saw the ad for a new doctor needed in a 'Pelican Town', he decided to take the risk.

So far, Harvey was gathering that Pelican Town is a very friendly place. All day, the townsfolk had been coming to establish care with him and meet the new town doctor. He'd even managed to hire a Medical Assistant already, and figured out who would be a little harder to reach.

It was late afternoon whenever the lobby door chimed, interrupting a focused Harvey. The trickle of folks had calmed down with the setting sun, and now he had the time to get some paperwork in order. The Doctor looks up through his glasses, putting away the folder before actually looking up.

"Well hello, please come in. I'm Doctor Harvey, the new-" His eyes landed on the man standing on the other side of the counter, who looked just as shocked as he did.

HEY EVERYONE !! It's been... over a week.

So my homework actually ate me. I've been so locked in I actually locked everyone else out which includes all of my hobbies. Like writing.

And finals are super soon. So this is my blanket statement announcement that writing will officially be on the backburner for me until school ends. I'm just so tired, and I have SO MANY writing assignments due. It's ridiculous.

BUT it will be over soon. If I ever find the time and energy to write, I promise I absolutely will. It's just hard to do that and also be an academic weapon. Your boys gonna become a doctor.
