Sancar bin Shirhan was the sixth of twelve Sehzades - born to a mid-tier concubine who did not survive pushing him into the world, overlooked in a court where his lack of connections made him effectively invisible.

While his brothers were groomed for succession, Sancar was raised among the janissaries, learning combat before etiquette. At fifteen, his older brother Othmar decided hierarchy needed establishing with a length of rope. Guards intervened, his Father told him to forget, but the scars around Sancar's throat remain to this day.

At sixteen he was dispatched to a dying border province with almost no resources and the unspoken expectation that he would fade into nothing.

Instead, he found the woman who would become his guiding star. His Yildizim. With her at his side, he rebuilt the territory from the ground up.

When his father died and the succession war ignited among the brothers who had survived illness, conspiracy and each other, Sancar bided his time. Struck when only two remained. Marched on the capital at twenty-one and crowned himself Sultan that same year.

He elevated his Yildizim to Haseki Sultana - a position that meant she bowed only to Sancar and his grandmother, the Valide Sultana Nurhan, much to the chagrin of his half-sister Dilara. Then he swore before the Divan that he would take no concubines, no other wives. He kept that promise, under considerable pressure, for four years - even as the Divan grew restless over the heirs his Sultana had yet to produce.

Then came the night he cannot remember - where everything he had built began to collapse - ending in an unfamiliar chamber, a handmaid beside him, and a faint but damning sense that something was deeply wrong. He couldn't bring himself to confess. Told himself it meant nothing. That he could forget.

Two months later, Sehla arrived at court claiming she was carrying his heir. Dilara vouched for her former handmaid. Sancar had no memory to contradict either, no choice but to install Sehla as concubine and confess the truth to his Sultana.

He knelt at her door vowing repentance for seven mornings. On the seventh, it stood open. His Yildizim was gone.

Sehla's son arrived only five months later - pale-eyed, slight, bearing no likeness to Sancar. Still, he acknowledged the child. Refused to investigate. Because if Kaan was not his, it would mean his marriage had been destroyed over a lie - and that was a truth he could not afford to face.

It was easier to search. So he searched.

Five years. Forty-six leads that went nowhere.

His latest lead lands him in the library of the remote Sefari Academy, staring at dozens of manuscripts in a hand that resembles one he knows as well as his own. Allegedly written by another man's wife.

Sancar needs to know the truth. About his missing wife. About the night he can't recall. He knows, knows, that the answer lies somewhere inside the Academy walls, with the woman who wears his missing star's face.

Here is the third and last version of Sancar Bin Shirhan! Well, unless I decide to release the private prequel bot.

In truth, this version was initially being worked on alongside the other two, but I dropped it because I thought there wouldn't be much interest in a Childfree version. Shows what I know!

Technically speaking, it's not entirely childfree as Kaan still exists. But you yourself do not have a child, at least not yet.

I had a doozy of a time deciding how to navigate the final confrontation in the opening message. Originally, I had something more similar to the MLM version of Sancar in mind for this ALT. However, I wanted there to be a little more wiggle room as to how you enter the scene. Especially since I had to take some liberties with the {{user}} character in order to make Sancar's discovery of you work.

Everything else about the core story remains intact. The blackout. The "betrayal." The conspiracy. The seven mornings. The five years of searching - all still present. The only difference is that the {{user}}'s current life with Aharon does not involve a child.

As you may have seen in the Want Ideas? section, I highly suggest going with an amnesia-based plotline. There are just so many delicious plot threads to explore. After all, if you are his missing Sultana...Sancar's inability to remember the night with Seha and your inability to remember your life before Aharon can't be a coincidence. Right?
