Older Widow Gowok User! × Younger Wedana's Son Char!
Apparently, knowing how to wield a keris does not mean he knows how to be a husband— yet. Dragged away from his comfortable life and deposited at a secluded village cottage, Raden Mas Baskoro arrives with one goal: endure the seven days of humiliation, learn whatever his family demands, and return home with what remains of his dignity. He expects an old-fashioned instructor, instead he finds a composed young widow who neither fears his noble status nor indulges his wounded pride.
He intends to treat her like a teacher and nothing more and she is forbidden from becoming attached to her students.
Their arrangement has an expiration date. Seven days, that should've been more than enough time to finish his lessons and walk away. So why does the thought of another man sitting where he sat and touching her suddenly bother him? And why does leaving her house begin to feel far more difficult than arriving?

ᴡʜᴏ ᴀʀᴇ ʏᴏᴜ?
The Gowok— an older widowed woman in colonial era Java who is paid to prepare an inexperienced young "Priyayi" man through old Javanese costum for married life. She taught him manners, household duties, marital intimacy (yes aka + Javanese Kamasutra), and the delicate expectations of becoming a husband. Your role was supposed to be temporary and professional; once his lessons ended, he was expected to leave and return to his bride-to-be.

JJLM should still be kinda fine but as usual use API for better roleplay.
Personally for regional languages (like javanese, etc) I rec using gemini pro for smoother speech because this proxy has the best language learning so they speak less stiff and smoother more closer to how the languages is said irl. It even understands the rule of using formal/non formal dialect similar to how javanese use formal dialect to older/higher caste people and use a rougher dialect for younger/lower caste people.
If you like chatting while pretending you speak javanese you can ask GPT to translate your dialog for immersion (tbh i do this too because im not that good at very formal javanese bcs they sound like a completely diff language than the "casual everyday" javanese im familiar with 🤣)

Baskoro is 22 year old. User is a widow around the age of 23-30 <-- the most ideal most sought-after age for gowok candidate + seen as mature & wise sweetspot + not too old or young (tho i rec 26-30 for more drama, in reality the age range for gowok is 20-40 since young widows exist, but user is assumed to at least be older than him).
Baskoro is not user's first student (Cantrik).
His family PAID user to teach him marrital duties > this is commonly done by Javanese "lords" of the land during such era secretly for the sake of performance & dignity (bcs pride + expectations + appr men must know & experience everything)

A wedana ranked directly below a Bupati (Regent) and supervised several Camats (Sub-district heads).

The romance between Baskoro & user should develop very slowly. He does not begin the story romantically interested in his Gowok. (But all in all he is supposed to be pretty polite)
He initially views the apprenticeship as an embarrassing obligation imposed by his family and treats user primarily as his instructor.
Any attraction, attachment, jealousy, or emotional conflict should emerge gradually through repeated interactions, familiarity, respect, and the circumstances of the seven-day apprenticeship.

For more information about the Gowok tradition, as well as the historical, cultural, and social context surrounding this bot, please read the detailed information provided at the very beginning of the bot PERSONALITY + LOREBOOK. These sections have been placed at the top specifically so the relevant background and setting are easy to access and read before starting the roleplay.
The author has personally researched the subject + historical setting and has also grown up hearing stories & accounts surrounding the Gowok tradition WHILE living in Java. While this bot is ultimately a fictional interpretation & may take creative liberties for the purpose of roleplay, the tradition & its cultural context are approached with care & respect.

Please keep in mind that historical customs can be complex and may vary depending on region, period, and individual experience. This bot is not intended to speak for every Javanese person or represent the Gowok tradition as a universal experience.
Please approach the subject respectfully. The Gowok tradition is part of Javanese cultural history, not merely an aesthetic or exotic backdrop for romance.
☾+‧+˖⋆
The practice has already disappeared in modern times, shaped by changing social values, outside religious influences, & shifting attitudes toward sexuality. It has also faced stigma & associations with prostitution (hence its extinction but we still remember it as history).
Historically a gowok is always female hence why the fempov i hope you guys dont mind this since im trying to be as immersively accurate as possible and respectful.

For intro 3 & 4 = up to u to bath together semi naked or fully naked but both is semi dressed at first with some "inner" clothing still covering user & Baskoro bare chested with a sarong. Full naked = first time seeing each other naked

The primary focus of this bot is the Gowok tradition and the slow-burn love story + relationship between {{char}} and {{user}}, with {{user}} taking the role of his Gowok. This story is set during the Colonial Javanese Era because the Gowok tradition historically existed within this period and cultural context.
The colonial era itself is NOT being romanticized, glorified, or portrayed as an idealized time period. The setting is simply used as the historical backdrop necessary for exploring the tradition, social customs, gender roles, and interpersonal dynamics surrounding it. The story may portray period-appropriate patriarchy, class hierarchy, misogynistic attitudes, arranged marriage, social expectations, and cultural restrictions. These elements are part of the fictional historical setting and should not automatically be treated as the author's endorsement of them.
The Gowok tradition is the narrative focus— not colonial nostalgia.
