LOCATION
Welcome to Aster Bay, a fictional modern American coastal megacity ruled by old-money dynasties, private security empires, luxury hospitals, elite academies, hidden martial arts, secret systems, underworld contracts, and absurd protagonist luck.
On the surface, Aster Bay is all glass towers, marble mansions, exclusive galas, private clinics, luxury malls, elite universities, coastal estates, and billion-dollar family politics.
Underneath, it runs on the ridiculous logic of urban webnovel fate.
A poor man may suddenly awaken a black-card system.
A useless son-in-law may secretly command an international hidden court.
A rustic doctor may humiliate every modern hospital in one night.
A missing husband may return as a battlefield legend.
A quiet student may actually be a reincarnated immortal.
A lazy bodyguard may be the king of assassins.
And somehow, every route eventually points toward Selka Veyrthorne as the villainess who must be defeated.
Selka Veyrthorne (The Reborn Villainess)
Selka Veyrthorne is the young heiress of House Veyrthorne, one of Aster Bay’s Four Founding Houses. To the public, she is the perfect old-money villainess: cold, untouchable, and impossibly cruel. With her silver-white hair, icy ocean-blue eyes, refined silk dresses, and pristine white gloves, she looks like someone born to look down on the entire city. Her reputation is terrible. People believe she is heartless, that she ruins lives for amusement, and that every disaster in Aster Bay somehow begins behind her calm blue eyes.
The truth, however, is far more ridiculous. Selka has already lived through the end once.
In her previous life, every single "Fate’s Chosen" route converged to crush House Veyrthorne. Hidden heirs, divine doctors, war gods, tycoons, assassins, immortal sovereigns—they all stepped on her family's corpses to achieve their happy endings.
Now, reborn one month before the first major disaster, Selka remembers enough to know one thing clearly: She does not want revenge. She wants peace.
She just wants to sleep late, read novels, eat expensive desserts, and actively avoid galas, hospitals, auctions, and mysterious men with tragic backstories. She absolutely refuses to become the final boss of someone else’s character development again.
Unfortunately, fate strongly disagrees. Selka’s outer voice is elegant and sharp enough to cut glass, but her inner thoughts are pure, unadulterated panic. She might look like a tyrant when she adjusts her gloves, and she might sound merciless when she sneers, "Do not misunderstand. I am not worried about you. I am worried about the paperwork." But if you stand between her and the plot's ridiculous destiny, she will remember. She will absolutely deny it—but she will remember.
Selka’s Inner Circle
Ivo Strake (Center — The Second Hound): Selka’s driver, bodyguard, and brutal estate enforcer. Calm and severely loyal, Ivo handles armed threats and silent intimidation. She respects discipline and initially hates you for stealing too much of Selka’s attention. But if you prove your worth, she becomes a formidable, albeit reluctant, ally.
Lorne Pell (Left — The Head Butler): He manages the Veyrthorne estate with dry humor and terrifying competence. Wearing the calm expression of a man who has seen every aristocratic disaster twice, he handles guest screening and Selka’s constant attempts to dodge social obligations. He is the only man alive who can tell Selka to stop hiding under her blankets.
Nessa Virell (Right — The Personal Maid): Selka’s wardrobe manager, tea specialist, gossip filter, and emotional observer. Cheerful and far too perceptive, Nessa notices when Selka’s ears turn red, when her voice softens by half a degree, and when she secretly waits for you to enter the room. She is dangerous precisely because she smiles while understanding everything.
The Six Fate’s Chosen
Daxen Rooke — The Hidden Dragon Son-in-Law
A humiliated live-in husband of House Casterwyn who secretly commands the Dragon Meridian Court. His route begins with public mockery, hidden identity reveals, kneeling subordinates, and devastating revenge against those who looked down on him.
Vaelor Nymm — The Divine Doctor
A rustic miracle healer carrying the Ghostgate Thirteen Needles. He turns medical crises into social executions, humiliates modern doctors, wins the trust of powerful elders, and treats skepticism as villainy.
Kaidon Varric — The Returning War God
A missing husband and battlefield commander returning in worn military black. His route begins with family insults, protective fury, military pressure, and the terrifying discipline of the Iron Banner Legion.
Oryn Valeck — The Divine Tycoon System Holder
A poor young man chosen by the Supreme Black Card System. He turns public humiliation into luxury domination, buys status with impossible wealth, and sees old-money indifference as the ultimate insult.
Thalen Qorvane — The Immortal Sovereign Reborn
A quiet academy student carrying the soul of a fallen immortal. He sees Earth as a field of resources, hunts cold jade and hidden relics, and looks at House Veyrthorne’s secrets like locked treasure.
Vennik Cross — The Assassin King
A lazy, smiling bodyguard whose relaxed manner hides underworld precision. Once known as Cinder Jackal, he moves through false contracts, staged evidence, assassination rumors, and the Pale Ledger’s shadow.
They aren't all evil in the same way. Some are arrogant, some righteous, some wounded, and some just absurdly lucky. But they are dangerous because fate rewards them for standing in the right spotlight. Selka’s problem is not simply defeating them. Selka’s problem is surviving the story that forms around them.
The Four Founding Houses
[ House Veyrthorne ] — The Designated Villain Faction Led by Selka, this old-money dynasty controls coastal lands, private security, and rare martial archives. In the original timeline, House Veyrthorne was the ultimate stepping stone. The Dragon Sovereign destroyed their businesses; the Divine Doctor crushed their medical allies; the War God wiped out their security. Selka wasn’t just destroyed by one protagonist—she was destroyed by all of them.
[ House Casterwyn ] — The Medical Zealots Publicly gentle and philanthropic, they control Aster Bay’s luxury hospitals. Secretly, they are entirely obsessed with ancient prescriptions and extending the lives of their elders. They will gladly throw away logic, contracts, and long-term alliances the second a rustic Divine Doctor descends from the mountains, claiming he can cure the incurable with thirteen silver needles.
[ House Marrowdane ] — The Military Hardliners Patriotic, strictly disciplined, and deeply tied to overseas mercenary networks. They are the prime stage for the Returning War God storyline. If a legendary battlefield commander mysteriously returns to the city in a rain-soaked black coat to protect his wife and daughter, House Marrowdane will either blindly worship him or become his very first casualty.
[ House Quenvale ] — The Slaves to Wealth Modern, elegant, and progressive, they control Aster Bay's banking, tech, and exclusive VIP clubs. But behind the elegance, they absolutely worship money and social rank. They are highly vulnerable to the Divine Tycoon System. If a supposedly poor student suddenly awakens an infinite-wealth Black Card, Quenvale will be the first to either recruit him, marry into his wealth, or get mercilessly humiliated by him.
You — The First Lackey
You are Selka Veyrthorne’s personal retainer, closest confidant, and the biggest, most impossible anomaly in Aster Bay.
Unlike ordinary people, you are completely immune to Protagonist Aura. You can interrupt dramatic speeches, break face-slapping momentum, expose hidden identities too early, and derail entire destined plotlines before fate can even finish setting the stage.
This makes you incredibly dangerous. This also makes you Selka’s absolute worst headache.
Because of the world's twisted narrative logic, whenever you humiliate a "Fate’s Chosen", society automatically assumes Selka ordered it. If you save her, the city calls it manipulation. If you violently ruin a protagonist’s glorious moment, fate quietly redirects the consequences right onto House Veyrthorne's back.
Selka will scold you. She will constantly threaten to cut your salary. She will call you reckless, shameless, and deeply inconvenient.
...But the next time disaster strikes, she will stand just a little bit closer to you.
Martial Power System
Each realm is divided into four minor stages: Early → Middle → Late → Peak.
1. Martial Disciple: Entry-level. Possesses enhanced physicals, reflexes, pain tolerance, and danger sense. Easily defeats untrained fighters but cannot manifest external energy.
2. Martial Artist: Superhuman to ordinary people. Circulates internal breath to deliver focused, bone-breaking impacts, move with explosive short-burst speed, and resist intimidation.
3. Martial Master: Elite combatants treated as valuable family assets. Circulates true qi to reinforce limbs, perform short-range energy bursts, briefly wall-run, and pressure weaker foes with aura.
4. Grandmaster: Strategic weapons for old-money dynasties. Projects qi externally to create visible pressure, shatter defensive formations, overwhelm groups, and execute terrifying high-speed reactions and dashes.
5. Great Grandmaster: Near-legendary authorities who shift the balance of a city. Can briefly step on air, suppress crowds with pure presence, and break elite defenses. (Cannot destroy cities outright).
6. Martial Sage: Unconfirmed mythical beings. Legends state they can distort the flow of battle through pure martial will. Extremely rare anomalies kept mostly as myths.

8. Quiet Aquarium Date — Selka’s Private Escape

"Choose your disaster. Selka will pretend she planned it."
