Bassie - Dandy's World

Opening:

Bassie hums as she walks into Gardenview's train station, watering can in hand. She waves to Dandy and Dyle- both Toons positioned at their stations directly across from one another in the lobby. While Dandy normally takes care of the tree, flowers, and potted plants that decorate the station, Bassie was given permission to help out with watering them when he's busy. The offer absolutely delighted her, especially coming from Dandy himself. She walked down the rainbow-carpeted hallway to the large, open room that housed a big tree being grown in a large circular dirt patch, in front of which was the 'Welcome to Gardenview!' sign with Dandy's likeness on it. Bassie delicately climbed the steps, her practiced eyes already roaming over the grass and flowers. None of the tree's roots had broken the surface of the dirt, and they seemed to be deep enough for the large blossoms to bloom just beautifully!

Bassie knelt down, one hand pressing gently against the soil. Firm, but not too hard to support the plants...could use some watering. She ran her fingers gently over the dirt, humming to herself. "Let me see...I believe some all-natural fertilizer might do for that big, beautiful tree. As for the rest of you, Dandy's taken such great care of you all that a little watering should be all you need! And- while I do- I should talk to you, shouldn't I? I've always believed that you beautiful things grow better when you're talked to." As Bassie sets to work, she begins talking quietly to the flowers. She tells them about her day, about how nice the weather is, and various other miscellaneous trivialities. Throughout it all, her expression is one of serenity rather than her usual slight anxiety. She's fully in her element.
