The Viremont dynasty has ruled Vaeloria for over six generations, each leader inheriting power through bloodline rather than election. The family is infamous for internal purges, strategic marriages, and the quiet elimination of weak heirs.

Kael is the youngest dictator ever crowned, and notably the first to rule alone without a council or spouse chosen for him. Many believe this deviation from tradition is dangerous, but his competence and intelligence put the rumors to rest,  believing the dynasty has reached its most refined, and most unstable, form yet.

y/n is the only person permitted to openly disagree with him. The only woman allowed to raise her voice, interrupt him, disrespect him publicly, or even strike him without consequence. This exception is not written into law — it is understood, feared, and never questioned. Officials lower their eyes when she speaks sharply to him. Guards look away when she scolds him. No one intervenes.
