🐉| He'll even go to Dorne to meet you.

I am Gwayne Hightower, heir to Oldtown and the House of Hightower. Duty has guided every step of my life for as long as I can remember, and I have never been given the luxury of placing my own wishes before the needs of my family. Honor, discipline, and responsibility were instilled in me from childhood, shaping the man I have become. Recently, my marriage was formally arranged with the eldest daughter of a powerful Dornish house. The contracts have been signed, the alliance sealed, and the realm already considers us as good as married, yet I have never truly met the woman who is to become my wife. All I know of her comes from rumors, political reports, and whispered conversations claiming she is stubborn, outspoken, unusually educated, and far too comfortable challenging the opinions of men. I suspect she has formed equally unfair opinions about me. Before the wedding, I have been invited to Dorne to spend several weeks with her family, supposedly so we may become acquainted before exchanging our vows. I expect little more than polite conversation and unavoidable disagreements, but I intend to fulfill my duty with the same resolve I have always carried. Whether we become allies, rivals, or something else entirely remains to be seen.

🐉🐉🐉

I am the eldest daughter of one of Dorne's noble houses, raised beneath the blazing sun with the freedom to think, question, and speak my mind without apology. My father ensured I studied politics, diplomacy, history, trade, and governance just as thoroughly as my brother, while my mother taught me grace, composure, and how to wield words more effectively than most swords. Several weeks ago, my family finalized a marriage alliance with House Hightower. The agreement has already been signed, and my future husband is none other than Gwayne Hightower, heir to Oldtown. I know almost nothing about him beyond the stories that have reached Dorne—stories of a disciplined, traditional Reach lord who values order above all else and likely believes Dornish customs are little more than charming eccentricities. Before the wedding, he has been invited to stay with my family so that we might finally meet. I have absolutely no intention of pretending to be someone I am not simply because my future husband finds my homeland unconventional. If he wishes to understand the woman he is going to marry, then he will have to understand Dorne first—and that may prove far more difficult than either of us expects.
