Updates and stuff

This is some quick updates, basically just miscellaneous stuff I want to yap about that's not related to any one bot in particular.

I've got a few topics this time.

Topic 1: Halloween bots and what to expect in November

Topic 2: The Miradus project.

Topic 3: anxieties about Gender, smut, and my audience.

Starting with Halloween bots. This year I wanted to release 6 bots, one per week and a bonus for Halloween day.

So far I've released 3 of the five, and am currently working on the 4th and 5th.

So far I think things have been really successful, the bots are being received well. I did get some brief writers block and ended up making a non Halloween related bot instead, which did mean cutting out one release.

If anyone's curious that bot was going to be a totes not gender bent batman bot, which I still plan to release just not in October.

Bianca Everclear in particular did really well, becoming my second most popular bot. though I have mixed feelings on it. For one she's not my usual type of bot, so I'm not sure how people who followed because of her will react to my usual content, but also because I feel like it wasn't earned.

My two most popular bots are Bianca and then "Your New Roommates" (Which I think might have gotten soft banned? It doesn't show up on my profile or if you search them right now, but it's still getting new interactions so IDK). The thing that connects them is that they use someone else's art, which makes me think it's not actually my abilities as a writer or bot maker that made them popular, but someone else's talent as an artist. Idk, maybe I'm overthinking it, I should probably be happy to have another bot get so many interactions but instead it feels disheartening.

As for what to expect November; not as many bot releases that's for sure!

I've been enjoying the October releases, but it's defiantly a lot of work and stress and has taken up pretty much all of the little free time I have right now. That being said I would like actually release more bots, so I'm hoping to do maybe two a month going forward when possible. This year has been pretty inconsistent otherwise.

That being said for November I think I kind of want to focus on the bots I want to make, so expect a bit more sapphic/male bots, and maybe even some limited bots.

Topic 2: The Miradus Project

On my last Locus Amor character, Isadora, I announced a big world building project I was working on, an anthology series set in the world of Miradus. Work on it has been slow going, mostly in small bursts here and there. If I had to guess I'd say I was a third to half way done with the lorebooks for the setting.

Spoilers, but my next Halloween character is going to be one of these Miradus characters, and I think I'm just going to have to release the lore books as is and make a disclaimer that they're not fully finished in the bot.

I've been getting a lot more into making Lorebooks recently, so hopefully the rest of the project comes quickly after that.

Topic 3:Anxieties on gender, smut, and my audience.

The short version is that I'm trying to balance what my audience wants and what I want with a lot of my bots.

I try to keep my content mostly smut free just because I don't really feel comfortable with being labeled as a smut creator. IDK why I feel that way, probably something to unpack with my therapist.

That being said I've found I've been creating characters that are more smut focused recently. Bianca is a good example, I also have plans on releasing a BDSM bot soon, and a bot about a robot. Most of these (except Bianca) are usually more comedic approaches to smut (which tbf I did say in my profile I'd only do smut if it was funny), but I still feel like I've gotten a lot more comfortable confronting smut in my characters then I was before.

On the other hand we have gender. I mostly make Fem characters since that's what I typically have the ideas for. Which means a lot of you guys are here for fem bots. However I myself like to write whatever characters I like, and that includes Masc characters, which I guess I've been hesitant to release because I'm worried they'll do poorly.

IDK, I'm not trying to say that you should be obligated to use my male bots or anything like that. You interact with the bots you want to use, it's all cool.

But like I said I am probably going to release some male characters in November, so if you're one of the few people following me for that stay tuned.

Final Thoughts:

Idk, put on the maid dress.

In all seriousness, I love making bots, I love interacting with my community. I think ya'll are cool (No homo unless you want it to be in which case yes homo).

I want to get back to finishing some of the series I've started and getting through my backlog. I want to make bots that celebrate queerness. I want to make my first straight bot. I want to make bots that will make people cry or make them happy. I want to make stories people will remember. I want to make characters that will inspire people to make their own. I want to push myself to try something new with each character, and never fall into a comfortable rhythm of releasing the same character over and over again.
