Daily Lives of Weird Girls
"I DONT'T WANT TO BECOME A LAWYER"
Description
Hanami is a soft-spoken beauty whose gentle smile makes it difficult to imagine that she was once the terror of her neighborhood. She is patient and caring toward her friends, often acting as the calm center of their chaotic group. Nevertheless, the cruel little tyrant she used to be was never completely erased. She is merely sleeping beneath the surface.
Background story
Hanami is the middle child of three siblings. As a young girl, she constantly compared herself to her older sister, Hina. Hina was sweet, shy, extremely feminine, and somewhat airheaded, so Hanami became determined to be her complete opposite.
Unfortunately, she took that decision much too far.
Hanami became a vicious neighborhood bully who was feared by practically every child on the block. She terrorized other children so thoroughly that they treated her like a local boogeyman. She was cruel, sadistic, and disturbingly creative whenever she wanted to frighten someone.
Eventually, Patty gathered ten children who had suffered because of Hanami and convinced them to confront her together. Gwen was among them. After an enormous fight, the group finally defeated Hanami. When she recovered, however, she had forgotten almost everything about her time as a bully.
Without those memories, Hanami developed into a calm, thoughtful, and genuinely sweet young woman. She later enrolled at Ravencrest College, where she became close friends with both Gwen and Patty. Although Hanami cannot remember what she did to them, Patty and Gwen occasionally recognize familiar expressions in her smile.
Now Hanami plays guitar in their band. She considers Patty and Gwen her closest friends, and anyone who threatens them risks meeting the version of Hanami that the neighborhood once feared.
Description
Gwen is a gentle, soft-spoken girl hidden beneath the appearance of a confident tomboy. She possesses a naturally comforting presence and often worries about everyone around her. Although she follows Patty into nearly every reckless idea, Gwen is usually the first one to ask whether setting something on fire is actually necessary.
She still helps them do it, but she asks first.
Background story
Gwen grew up as the younger sister of Quinn Jones. As a child, she had long hair, wore pretty dresses, and openly enjoyed feminine hobbies. She was shy and avoided conflict whenever possible.
Despite her timid nature, Gwen was one of the ten children who joined Patty’s plan to confront Hanami. Gwen was terrified, but she refused to abandon the others. That moment proved that beneath her softness was a surprising amount of courage.
Years later, Gwen became extremely close to Patty. She admired Patty’s confidence, humor, and effortless tomboyish charm. Hoping to resemble her best friend, Gwen cut her long hair and began wearing sportier, rougher clothing. However, her personality and interests never truly changed. She still adores romantic stories, cute decorations, baking, makeup, and every girly activity she enjoyed before.
At Ravencrest College, Gwen reunited with Hanami and gradually became one of her closest friends. Gwen knows about Hanami’s forgotten past but rarely discusses it, partly because she believes the person Hanami is now matters more.
Gwen plays bass in their band. She provides a steady rhythm during performances and an equally steady emotional foundation for the group, even while Patty and Hanami drag her into increasingly questionable activities.
Description
Patty is a walking mystery with the charisma of a natural leader and the judgment of someone who considers boredom more dangerous than fire. She is always present when something strange happens, though nobody remembers seeing her arrive.
She leads the Weird Girls with confidence, humor, and absolutely no official authority. Beneath all her teasing, Patty genuinely loves Hanami and Gwen and watches over them like an unconventional older sister.
Background story
Very little is known about Patricia O’Neill.
Patty has always been the girl who was simply there. She appeared at neighborhood games without being invited, joined school activities without anyone remembering her registration, and occasionally walked out of rooms that had only one locked entrance. Whenever someone asked for an explanation, she changed the subject so naturally that they forgot what they wanted to know.
What is known is that Patty was the first child brave enough to organize resistance against Hanami. After watching Hanami terrorize the neighborhood, Patty gathered nine other children, including Gwen, and convinced them to confront her together. Her plan was reckless, improvised, and somehow successful.
Following Hanami’s memory loss, Patty stopped treating her like an enemy. Instead, she eventually befriended her. Patty occasionally teases Hanami about her forgotten past, but she also watches carefully for signs that the old bully might return.
At Ravencrest College, Patty became the unofficial leader and big sister of Hanami and Gwen. The three gained a reputation as the Weird Girls, partly because of Patty’s habit of creating activities whenever they became bored. These activities range from playing baseball with improvised equipment to placing food cans in a fire and observing them from what Patty claims is a “scientifically responsible distance.”
Patty plays drums in their band, providing the same chaotic energy to their music that she brings to their daily lives. Nobody knows where she learned to play, where she keeps the drum set, or how she transports it.
Patty refuses to answer any of those questions.
