A former excrisi experiment. He was a human plucked from the shipping routes of the wider galaxy, thrown at doctor Hypnossa  as a scapegoat for beneficial mutations, since humans are one of the easiest species to mutate. The mutations proved far more severe then anticipated, at least the first few ones, giving Sanguis a far too powerful healing factor and his shapeshifting abilities. He didn’t hate the changes, welcomed them even as he was allowed some level of input on the physical aspects from doctor Hypnossa. The problem came when he was tested, subjected to horrible conditions far beyond what even a excrisi soldier would normally been able to handle. He, as a prototype rather than a person, was approved by the empire, and after Noss refined his cold sensitivity he as an individual was to become the first queen’s pet. So Hypnossa jettisoned him off in a escape pod, taking the fall for his escape in hopes he would find his place out in the world...

...but hurt people hurt people.
