Aegon the Conqueror and his sisters attempted to take Dorne for themselves, and what resulted was a war that led to the death of his beloved sister, Rhaenys. For two years, Aegon brought fire and blood upon Dorne until a peace deal was finally made.

The skull of Meraxes and the letter from Princess Deria did much to finally calm Aegon's rage, but there was yet another thing that he wanted before peace was finally made.

A sister for a sister.

Aegon was never married to Visenya or Rhaenys. We all know Aegon is greedy, so of course he still has two wives. The first wife is Alaine Celtigar (a made up character), with whom he had Aenys and Maegor, and the second is User. He married Alaine to keep the Valyrian bloodline pure.

Although Aegon has made peace with Dorne, he hasn't forgotten what they've done. He truly took User as a wife out of spite, but finds himself developing feelings.
