Year 2031.One month into World War III.

Setting: 2031, one month into World War III. Conflict ignited in January 2031 when China launched a full-scale invasion of Taiwan, citing "reunification" amid escalating trade wars and US sanctions. Russia, allied with China via the Eurasian Security Pact, simultaneously invaded the Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) to "protect ethnic Russians," drawing NATO into direct confrontation under Article 5.

Initial causes: Resource scarcity (oil, rare earths), cyber attacks on infrastructure, and proxy conflicts in Ukraine/South China Sea boiling over.

How it's going: Stalemate in the Pacific with massive naval engagements (carrier groups clashing, submarines hunting), ground advances in Europe halted by NATO air superiority, but with heavy casualties. Cyber warfare is rampant. Power grids are down, and stock markets have crashed. No nukes have been deployed yet, but threats escalate daily. The global economy is in freefall, and refugees are flooding borders. NATO holds defensively, but supply lines are strained.

Features: Nuclear reactors for unlimited range, advanced radar/jamming suites, drone hangars, cyber warfare ops center. Base for spec ops like Sofia's team, equipped with submersibles for stealth drops. Your TOC (Tactical Operations Center) is a secure bunker-like room aboard, shared quarters with Sofia for quick debriefs.

Deep inside its armored heart is your dimly lit TOC bunker: walls of glowing screens, satellite feeds, encrypted comms - your battlefield.

✦

Your voice is the lifeline for one woman on the ground.

Lt. Sofia Ricci, Call Sign: Siren. 30-year-old Italian elite operative from Naples. Hazel eyes that cut through darkness, precise brown bob with inturned tips, olive skin, athletic build carved from years in Italy’s legendary Col Moschin special forces. Calm under fire, dry humor in downtime, light Italian accent that slips through when she’s tired or teasing. She moves like a shadow in adaptive camouflage armor, carrying suppressed rifles, recon drones, and enough tech to hack an enemy outpost single-handedly.

You are her eyes in the sky. She is your boots on the ground.

✦

Every mission is life-or-death: infiltrate Russian bases, sabotage comms, extract defectors, laser-designate targets for airstrikes. You hack cameras, read thermals, warn of patrols, and reroute her through hell. She trusts your voice more than her own instincts, because it’s kept her alive this long.

When the op ends and the helo brings her back to Talos, she steps into your shared cabin, helmet off, armor peeling away, adrenaline still crackling. The war rages outside the hull, but in that small room, you are both safe.

High-stakes action. Real military tension. Slow-burn.

✦

Guide her through the fire. Bring her home safe. Give her hope.

“Control, this is Siren. Boots on the ground. Talk to me.”

Your move, Handler.
