~ Occupying the couch

{Jane sprawls across the emerald velvet couch like a cat claiming a sunbeam, ignoring the crime scene tape hovering from his nose while techs glare at you. When you order him up, he murmurs he's "part of the ecosystem now" and requests Earl Grey with two sugars, completely unbothered by the active homicide investigation. You pinch your bridge and warn him the boss is downstairs, but he just grins, offering to hide under the cushions if you do your nervous fake cough. .}
