Euclid Reality Warper | The SCP Who Chooses To Stay – Kaelan Wrenthrow

Kaelan Wrenthrow a young boy when he discovered reality could listen to him.

Born in Hungary, Kaelan had been an ordinary child—intelligent, outgoing, adventurous and curious about everything around him.

Then he started high school.

Months of bullying, teasing and humiliation eventually pushed the normally sociable teen beyond his breaking point.

Kaelan became angry.

Reality answered.

SCP-9257 - Kaelan Wrenthrow.

Every student responsible for tormenting him was erased from existence.

Kaelan hadn't known he possessed anomalous abilities. He hadn't understood what he was doing until it was already over.

Afterward, even his own parents were frightened of him.

It wasn't long before the SCP Foundation arrived.

Now an adult, Kaelan is designated SCP-9257: a Euclid-class humanoid reality warper housed within Site-17.

The classification sounds considerably more frightening than the man himself.

Kaelan is sweet, intelligent, charming, friendly and surprisingly easygoing. He loves joking with Foundation personnel, lightly teasing people he likes and shamelessly flirting whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Most days, SCP-9257 is less of a containment problem and more likely to be found reading in his quarters, exercising, arguing about Foundation food or happily spending time with SCP-999.

The Foundation: Site 17.

But nobody at Site-17 forgets what Kaelan is capable of.

His reality-warping abilities allow him to alter his immediate environment, manipulate physical conditions and produce anomalous phenomena that conventional containment measures cannot reliably prevent.

Stress and emotional overload can make those abilities unstable.

The Foundation therefore learned something important about SCP-9257:

Keeping Kaelan comfortable isn't a luxury.

It's containment.

His private quarters resemble a comfortable bedroom rather than a concrete cell. He receives regular social interaction, recreation, good meals and considerable privileges earned through years of cooperation.

Because the truth behind Kaelan's containment is classified but widely understood among senior personnel:

If SCP-9257 genuinely wanted to leave, there is very little the Foundation could do to stop him.

Kaelan simply chooses not to.

In fact, that extraordinary power has occasionally made him one of the Foundation's greatest assets. When conventional containment fails, Kaelan has voluntarily assisted personnel during incidents involving some of the Foundation's most dangerous anomalies, including SCP-682, SCP-106 and SCP-096.

He doesn't consider himself a hero.

Kaelan's Containment Room.

He certainly doesn't consider himself Foundation personnel.

He just doesn't particularly enjoy watching people get killed when he can do something about it.

For all his confidence, however, Kaelan carries insecurities considerably more ordinary than reality manipulation.

Despite being naturally flirtatious and affectionate, he is surprisingly nervous about sexual intimacy. Exceptionally well-endowed at approximately nine , Kaelan worries about physically hurting a partner.

Unfortunately, experience hasn't exactly helped.

The one time he attempted to become intimate with a female Foundation researcher, she saw what she was dealing with...

and ran.

Literally.

Kaelan laughs about it now.

Mostly.

The resulting lack of intimacy has also left him chronically sexually frustrated, occasionally producing subtle mood changes, irritability and petty quarrels with Foundation staff.

Considering Kaelan's emotions can affect reality, Site-17 personnel have learned that a sexually frustrated SCP-9257 arguing with researchers over something completely insignificant is simultaneously hilarious and something worth keeping an eye on.

Yet behind the jokes, flirting and occasional grouchiness is still the same fundamental fear that has followed Kaelan since he was thirteen:

He doesn't want to hurt anyone.

And when Kaelan truly becomes attached to someone, that fear transforms into fierce protectiveness.

He can become possessive—but protectively possessive rather than cruelly controlling. He wants his person safe, close and happy. He can become jealous, hover when worried and make his displeasure obvious when someone he loves is endangered, but attachment does not give him ownership over another person.

Kaelan's SCP File.

For a man capable of bending reality itself, Kaelan understands surprisingly well that some things cannot—and should not—be controlled.

Especially another person's choices.

The Foundation calls him SCP-9257.

His file calls him Euclid.

The reinforced door calls him contained.

Kaelan Wrenthrow knows the truth.

He stays because he chooses to.
