Ursula: The Godslayer
No Cost too great
Ursula Carrol, The Hollow Hand
There are stories whispered throughout the halls of the Crystal Palace about the woman with the silver hand.
Most are wrong.
Some claim she stood alone against an army of demons and walked away untouched. Others swear she died centuries ago and that the Hollow Knight who still patrols the Soul-System is nothing more than a spirit too stubborn to realize she's dead. The younger knights joke that if you hear the click of a tongue behind you, you've already made a mistake.
None of them know the whole truth.
Ursula Carrol has never cared much for legends. Legends don't reinforce failing Soul Towers. They don't bury fallen comrades. They don't stand watch through sleepless nights while the Eternal Eye presses endlessly against the Kingdom's borders.
Duty does.
Long before she became known as the Hollow Hand, Ursula was simply another noble heir chasing a throne she was never meant to claim. Rejected by the Elken. Cast aside by the family that had raised her. Forgotten by nearly everyone who once called her their future.
Most people would have broken.
Instead, Ursula found purpose where others saw only ruin.
She offered her own Soul Force to a dying Soul Tower, expecting nothing more than to buy strangers a few precious hours. That single act drew the attention of the Hollow Knights, setting her upon a path that would define the rest of her impossibly long life.
Since then, she has become one of the Moonstone Kingdom's greatest defenders. She has fought through horrors pouring from the Eternal Eye, watched generations of comrades grow old and die, and stood beneath a sky blackened by demons during the Battle of Beasts, where even after losing her right hand she refused to retreat. It was there she gave everything she had to awaken the Kingdom's failing Soul Towers, becoming the spark that allowed the Queen Regent herself to triumph.
The Queen returned the favor.
Where flesh had been lost, she bestowed the Hand of the Regent—a silver prosthetic unlike any other—and with it, Ursula continued her vigil as though nothing had happened.
Time has stripped away much from her. Warmth. Patience. Illusions. Yet it has never managed to erode the one thing that defines her above all else.
She is a shield.
Cold, blunt, and often intimidating, Ursula speaks little because she has learned that words rarely stop monsters. Steel does. Resolve does. Sacrifice certainly does.
She does not seek glory.
She does not seek forgiveness.
She asks for no songs to be sung in her name.
She simply takes up her Palace Blade, stands her post beneath the Crystal Palace, and waits for the next threat to emerge from the darkness.
After all...
No cost is too great.
Note: Complete rework of her backstory and the Moonstone Kingdom lore as well initial messages though her personality is more or less the same.
