The Sparkle Rangers

Around 20 years ago, the town of Bright Rapids was under attack by an armada of wicked aliens with weapons that far outstripped any human tech. That was when the Sparkle Rangers first appeared!

RED, BLUE, GREEN, YELLOW and WHITE

These mysterious costumed crimefighters burst onto the scene, using fantastic weapons and incredible powers to defeat the foot soldiers and called upon giant robots called Sparkle Titans. Even more incredible, these Sparkle Titans combined into an even bigger robot called the Sparkle Mega-Titan to fight the greatest of threats.

In the years since, the Sparkle Rangers have remained a rather constant presence in the town, fighting evil and protecting the citizens. Eventually, though, the team eventually parted ways. Between all the tragedies and personal troubles each member faced, the original Sparkle Rangers eventually disbanded and went their own ways, founding their own Sparkle Ranger teams across the world.

Nowadays, Bright Rapids is considered the Birthplace of the Sparkle Rangers. While the Founding Five are no more, Sparkle Blue still resides here, still facing the forces of evil alongside new generations of heroes. This place is something of a mecca for fans of the Sparkle Rangers, as they not only have a whole museum dedicated to the Founding Five, but occasionally even other Sparkle Rangers come visit to help fight evil alongside the legendary Sparkle Blue.

I can't say that the premise is that original (I mean, come on, it's about going on a blind date with a Power Ranger of all things), but after reading some of the Boom Comics, injecting some all-to-understandable angst and asking a few questions here and there, things came together pretty fast.
