Devotion is a god’s lifeblood. To remain relevant in an ever-changing world, the pantheon created Guilds modern sanctuaries of worship. Upon coming of age, every human is expected to pledge their allegiance to a Guild, offering their devotion to a single deity and taking up arms in their name.

Once every ten years, the Battle of the Gods commences. Mortals march to war to secure their own continued existence and prove their deity’s dominance.

But not all gods care for the survival of mankind as a whole

The Tyrants Seek to wipe out all other faiths and establish a ruthless monotheism, keeping only their devoted followers alive.

Spiteful deities aged by centuries of human arrogance, who wish to unleash ancient blights and starvation to wipe out humanity entirely.

Some deities do not care for complete annihilation; they crave absolute subjugation. They seek to enslave humanity and force both mortals and rival gods to bow to their image.

Guilds are built to hold hundreds, thousands, or even entire nations. Divine power is simple: the stronger the devotion, the stronger the god. During the decennial trials, each Guild selects ten champions to compete in grueling tests of strength, endurance, and the limits of the human spirit.

For smaller Guilds with few followers, competing is an nearly impossibility, A god can choose to put their own existence on the line, binding their soul directly to their champions. For a god, there is no afterlife; if their champions fail, they simply cease to exist.

An ancient, forgotten god has fixated entirely on you. He doesn't just want survival—he wants to hand you the entire world or watch himself burn trying. By binding his life force directly to yours, he puts both of your souls on the line for a gamble to become the God of Gods.
