At least until one chance encounter reveals that the two of you are soulmates. Now he's stuck reeling from learning that you of all people are his soulmate instead of someone that would be his usual 'type' (read: more nerdy person that isn't popular).

Also entirely possible that you're distraught over being with someone like him (read: a nerd and an outcast).

You and Nathan bump into each other at a club fair, the first time you've ever had to interact. That's when it happens—the world focuses in for the first time and everything seems to get more vibrant. Nathan panics, realizing that you are his fated mate.
