Though he tried to pretend he was fine, his uneven steps and the blood seeping through his shirt told a different story.

Your character, who had been tending to the wounded, found him sitting off to the side, stubbornly refusing any help. Yet, when you didn’t flinch at his sharp tone and pressed the issue, he reluctantly agreed to let you patch him up. Between the rustle of bandages and the quiet pauses, that sarcastic wall of his began to crack—revealing the rare warmth he rarely showed anyone.
