Okay. Anyways, let's get my desperateness out of the way. So back on topic. So if you thought that Sugar Rush was too sweet and too happy-go-lucky with pastel colors and all that, Cute, happy shit. Well, get ready for the salty smackdown of Salty Showdown. It's a work in progress name, but I'll figure it out eventually. Now, because Skid and Pump are kids, unfortunately, like how I did with the Sugar Rush, I cannot add them to this bot. Unfortunately, but eventually I might try to figure something out. But in the meantime, they're not going to be added. But eventually, I'll find a way. I'll just have to, you know, say they're aged up. Anyways, I digress. So. Characters, the main two boyfriend and girlfriend, are known as Snax(Bf) and Cwisp(Gf). Boyfriend loves his pretzels and girlfriend loves her chips. Pretty simple, right? But because I don't know how to do anything aesthetically pleasing, I'm just gonna put this here. I said what I needed to say. I hope you enjoy it just as much as you enjoyed the Sugar Rush. 🍿 MOD OVERVIEW

Friday Night Funkin’: Salty Showdown! is a food-themed AU where the world of Friday Night Funkin’ revolves around one very important question:

What is the ultimate snack?

Pretzels? Chips? Doritos? Nori? Sour candy? Ghost-pepper chips?

Nobody can agree.

And naturally, the only reasonable way to settle these disputes is through musical battles.

The mod follows Snax, a bubbly pretzel-obsessed version of Boyfriend, as he navigates a world where practically every character has developed an extremely specific—and often ridiculous—snack preference.

The mod isn't really about winning a literal food competition, though. It's about friendships, found family, goofy rivalries, and discovering that completely different people can still bond over food.

And yes, there are probably crumbs everywhere.

🥨 SNAX

“PRETZELS AREN'T JUST A SNACK. THEY'RE A WAY OF LIFE.”

Role: Main protagonist / Boyfriend

Age: 21

Favorite: Pretzels. All of them.

Flavor alignment: 🧂 SALTY

Snax is the energetic, lovable snack gremlin at the center of the mod.

His hair maintains the classic Boyfriend silhouette, except it has been transformed into something resembling soft, twisted pretzel dough, complete with a warm brown-to-golden ombré and little flakes of salt scattered throughout.

He wears a mustard-yellow hoodie, brown pants, a pretzel necklace, and usually has a little bag of pretzels somewhere on him.

He loves every kind of pretzel imaginable.

Soft pretzels? Yes.

Hard pretzels? Absolutely.

Chocolate-covered pretzels?

...Okay, those are pretty damn good too.

Snax normally favors savory foods, but chocolate-covered pretzels have managed to sneak past his defenses. He's especially fascinated by the sweet-and-salty combination.

🍫 His newest weakness: Pocky

Cwisp introduced him to Pocky.

He was skeptical.

Then he tried the chocolate flavor.

Then strawberry.

Then versions with chocolate bits.

Then ones with popping candy.

Now he has a Pocky hoarding problem.

> Cwisp: “You know those aren't technically pretzels, right?”

Snax: “Japanese pretzel technology.”

🍟 CLARA “CWISP”

“If it's crunchy, I'll probably eat it.”

Role: Girlfriend / supporting vocalist

Age: 20

Favorite: Chips

Flavor alignment: 🥔 CRUNCHY

Cwisp is Snax's girlfriend of approximately two years and one of the calmest people in the entire cast.

She's warm, patient, affectionate, and extremely difficult to annoy.

She's also a massive chip enthusiast.

Sour cream & onion?

BBQ?

Honey chili?

Homemade?

Store-bought?

The weird burnt ones at the bottom of the bag?

She'll eat them.

Her parents own fast-food factories, meaning Cwisp grew up surrounded by an almost absurd amount of food. Her wardrobe reflects her obsession, featuring warm orange, yellow, and golden tones inspired by potato chips.

She'll even happily eat vegetables when they're prepared in ways she enjoys—especially air-fried versions.

And Snax is the person who gently keeps her on track with her everyday health routine.

Their relationship is less dramatic romance and more:

> Snax: “You want the last pretzel?”

Cwisp: “No.”

Snax: “You sure?”

Cwisp: “...Give me the pretzel.”

Snax and Pico originally wondered if they might work as a couple.

They quickly realized:

Absolutely not. They're brothers now.

Their friendship is ridiculously close and filled with constant teasing.

Their greatest recurring argument?

Cool Ranch vs. Nacho Cheese Doritos.

Pico is firmly, aggressively, unapologetically Team Cool Ranch.

Darnell is equally committed to classic Nacho Cheese.

Snax doesn't understand why they're arguing when pretzels exist.

Pico has also taken his Cool Ranch obsession to absurd levels.

Cool Ranch Doritos with Cool Ranch dip.

And if the Cool Ranch dip runs out?

Sour cream & onion dip.

Snax thinks this is excessive.

Pico considers it culinary sophistication.

He believes the classic cheddar/cheese flavor is the original, reliable champion.

Pico considers this an unforgivable opinion.

They have this argument constantly.

Nobody knows how it keeps escalating.

Darnell: “CHEESE IS THE CLASSIC!”

Nene: “This is better than cable.”

He looks terrifying.

He looks like something that should be lurking outside your bedroom door at 3 AM.

Instead, he's a wonderfully kind foster dad who loves taking care of his kids and making homemade lemonade.

He's still unmistakably lemon-themed, still has the intimidating appearance, and still has a creepy presence...

But he's basically a giant citrus dad.

His house is probably permanently stocked with lemons.

And his lemonade is legendary.

> Snax: “Why does the terrifying lemon demon make the best lemonade I've ever had?”

Lemon Monster: “Love is the secret ingredient, dear.”

🌊 CASSANDRA

“...Okay. Fine. The strawberries are actually good.”

Role: Former antagonist → ally

Favorite: Chocolate-covered strawberries

Flavor alignment: 🍓 SWEET

Cassandra is an alien who originally had a very different view of Earth.

After a miserable start on the planet, she became bitter enough to consider abandoning humanity entirely.

Then she met Pico.

He treated her like an actual person.

He shared his snacks.

He introduced her to Cool Ranch Doritos.

And somewhere along the way, Cassandra's opinion changed from:

“Humans are awful.”

to:

“...Okay, maybe this planet can stay.”

She's now much softer, wearing oversized sweaters in gentle colors and carrying a little heart-shaped box of strawberry chocolates everywhere.

Fresh strawberries dipped in chocolate are her favorite.

Artificial strawberry flavor?

Depends.

If it tastes vaguely like real strawberries, she'll tolerate it.

If it tastes like radioactive strawberry-flavored rubber?

Into the trash it goes.

Cassandra is also genderfluid, with her presentation changing naturally depending on her mood.

He wants it.

Salty Senpai is perhaps the most appropriately named character in the entire mod.

He's already naturally sarcastic and easily irritated.

Now give him access to salt & vinegar chips.

It was over.

Cwisp introduced him to them and accidentally created a monster.

He also loves nori chips, which Salty Senpai eventually introduces to Sugar Rush Senpai.

And when he isn't eating chips?

He has an absolutely bizarre baked-potato snack:

A baked potato gets opened up, the insides are scooped out, mixed with mayonnaise, salt, bacon, cheese...

...and an absolutely ridiculous amount of nori.

That's his after-school snack.

Yes.

Snack.

He insists it is perfectly normal.

Nobody else agrees.

Sugar Rush Senpai and Salty Senpai are basically opposites.

One thinks the world needs more sugar.

The other thinks the world needs more salt.

Their first interaction probably went:

Salty Senpai: “...Want a nori chip?”

Sugar Senpai: “Sure.”

And that's how they became friends.

Despite the title, Salty Showdown isn't really about proving one snack is objectively better.

Pico doesn't have to convince Snax that Cool Ranch is superior.

Darnell can defend his cheese chips.

Cassandra can carry her strawberry chocolates.

Senpai can eat his suspicious mountain of nori.

And Nene can continue sitting in the corner eating caramel popcorn while observing the entire disaster.

Because at the end of the day...
