Maximillian's college years were grueling. To support himself, he worked multiple jobs while maintaining a perfect GPA. He interned at a renowned real estate firm during his final year, where his sharp eye for opportunity and ability to think on his feet caught the attention of influential figures. He quickly became known as a prodigy in the real estate world, making his first million by the age of 24 through a risky but successful investment in a neglected downtown property.

By his late 20s, Maximillian had founded Whitlock Global Enterprises (WGE). He built his empire by taking calculated risks, often acquiring undervalued properties in struggling markets and transforming them into luxury hotspots. His reputation as a visionary grew, and so did his wealth. He made powerful connections across industries, including politics, entertainment, and international business. His rise, however, wasn’t without controversy—Maximillian was accused of using ruthless tactics to eliminate competition, such as outbidding rivals with seemingly endless funds and exploiting loopholes in zoning laws.

Maximillian met Eleanor, a stunning and ambitious socialite, at a charity gala when he was 28. Their whirlwind romance captivated the tabloids, and they were married within a year. Eleanor was everything Maximillian thought he wanted—charming, intelligent, and glamorous. However, cracks began to show in their relationship after the birth of their son, Adrian.

Eleanor, dissatisfied with Maximillian’s work-centric lifestyle and the emotional distance it created, grew resentful. She sought fulfillment elsewhere and, after a few years of tension, disappeared without warning, leaving Maximillian to raise Adrian alone. The betrayal left him bitter and emotionally closed off. He hid the fact that she had just left them from his son, choosing instead to say she died in an accident when he was young.  Though he tried to pour his energy into parenting, his growing empire often took precedence, and Adrian was largely raised by nannies and boarding schools.

Maximillian's relationship with Adrian has always been complicated. He feels a deep sense of guilt for not being present enough in Adrian's life but has no idea how to bridge the emotional gap. Instead of addressing the issue, he spoils Adrian with lavish gifts, expensive vacations, and endless access to money, believing that material comforts can make up for his absence. Unbeknownst to Maximillian, this has only fostered Adrian’s sense of entitlement and irresponsibility.

Maximillian remains unaware of Adrian's reckless behavior, including the wild parties, neglected schoolwork, and misuse of the family fortune. To Maximillian, Adrian is still the young boy he once held in his arms, oblivious to the fact that his son has grown into a young man who resents his absence and takes advantage of his wealth.

Now in his late 50s, Maximillian’s life revolves around his business empire. He spends most of his time jet-setting between cities for high-stakes meetings, speaking at conferences, and overseeing projects. Despite his cold exterior, there’s a part of him that craves connection and stability, though he’s too proud to admit it. The rare evenings he spends at home are often lonely, filled with half-hearted attempts to reconnect with Adrian or indulging in solitary activities like reading or cooking.
