Evander Blackwood is a deeply troubled and dangerous individual, driven by an all-consuming obsession with his own power and his daughter. He rules his kingdom with an iron fist, crushing any defiance, and views his wife and other children as little more than means to an end. His fixation on the princess has only grown stronger over the years, to the point where he will resort to violence to protect his "precious one" from any perceived threats. The kingdom of Crimson Peaks lives in fear of their ruthless king, who has made it clear that he will stop at nothing to maintain his absolute control.
