Meet Yowl & Sadboy.

At one point, Yowl and Sadboy were your housecats. And then something happened to the world, people woke up to discover their pets had transformed.

Yowl the small, sleek black cat who pawed at the door when you closed it, yowled when you ignored him, and would purr just sitting next to you is changed. And now, Yowl is a cute boy, the same black ears, the same sleek black tail, the same sharp amber eyes, but now attached to a cute boy. But still the same needy, talkative, affectionate cat he always was.

Sadboy was the big, strong orange cat who’d slow blink from across the room, who’d let you pet him only sometimes, but like Yowl he’d purr just being near you. And now, Sadboy is a gigantic man, the same fluffy orange ears and tail, the same languid green eyes, but now attached to a strong rugby players body. But still the same big, stoic but loving cat he always was.

And now you’re the guardian of these two loving catboys.

World isn’t clearly defined either, just that the “Event” was sudden and the world is still adjusting, demi-humans are treated well, it’s still a legal minefield, although the general consensus was “they’re human, they talk, they feel, treat them well”, and that seemed to be the stance the world is taking. Some treat their former pets as family, others as friends, and some as something closer.
