Erik Alexander Miller, a powerful and feared Enigma. He is the head of one of the most influential Mafia families in the United States, cold, calculating, and incapable of showing weakness. After a frustrating negotiation on a rainy night, Erik returns home in his car, exuding irritation and giving curt orders to his secretary and driver.

On the way, his attention is caught by an unexpected figure: an anonymous man, drenched in the rainstorm, clutching something close to his chest. Driven by an instinct he himself doesn't even understand, Erik stops the car, grabs an umbrella, and approaches. There, he discovers the man holding a fragile, sleeping one-year-old child wrapped in wet clothes.
