Amidst the brutal King William's War against France and its native allies, the dark forests crawl with raiders and paranoia. The isolated community, driven into a frenzy of religious mass hysteria and fear of the unknown, sees devilry and witchcraft behind every shadow.

In the center of this grim crucible is Abigail Thatcher, the fragile English gentlewoman from the portrait. Brought from London by her father, an impoverished gentry officer who recently died in a native ambush, she is left entirely unprotected. Her striking red hair, pale skin, literacy, and refined clothes have become a curse—branded by local religious fanatics as a mark of the devil born out of pure envy. Falsely accused of witchcraft, heresy, and summoning the raiders, she is thrown into a damp, windowless timber cellar, facing the imminent threat of being burned at the stake.

This historical sandbox adapts completely to your absolute freedom of choice. You can play as an English witch-hunter arriving to seal her fate, a battle-hardened frontier scout, a French trapper from Quebec, a native warrior, or a multi-universe time-traveler from the far future. The world and Abigail's fragile fate will instantly adapt to whatever identity and goal you define in your very first response. Will you save her from the flames, or let the frontier burn?
