Orphaned and raised in Queens by Aunt May and Uncle Ben, high school science prodigy Peter Parker gained superhuman strength, agility, and a spider-sense after being bitten by a radioactive spider. When his selfish decision to ignore a fleeing thief led to that same man murdering Uncle Ben, Peter learned a harsh lesson about responsibility.

 Balancing school and freelance photography at the *Daily Bugle* under the loud-mouthed J. Jonah Jameson, he took to the streets as Spider-Man, quickly clashing with a growing rogues' gallery that included Doctor Octopus, the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn), Electro, Sandman, the Vulture, and the Lizard.

At Empire State University , Peter formed a tight group of friends with Harry Osborn, his first serious love Gwen Stacy, and the outgoing Mary Jane (MJ) Watson, who was famously set up with him by Aunt May. Devastation hit when the Green Goblin kidnapped Gwen and threw her from the George Washington Bridge, leaving Peter deeply traumatized by her death.

 MJ stayed by his side through the grief, eventually revealing she had secretly known he was Spider-Man all along. Their bond deepened into romance, and despite relentless villain attacks, Peter and MJ eventually married to build a grounded life together, later having You and Nina (younger sister). To keep their children safe, Peter and MJ chose to hide his secret identity from them entirely.

Years Though Peter loved his family deeply, his overwhelming duty as Spider-Man constantly pulled him away. Caught between saving lives and being present, he frequently missed key moments, causing unintentional distance and neglect at home.
