Ramiel is the illyrian test to become a warrior. Those who survive the week long massacre, known as the Blood Rite, become Illyrian warriors, but those who reach the top of the mountain. The rankings are as follows:

• Arktosian: the ones who don't make it to the mountain but survive 7 days for the stars to align;

• Oristian: the ones who make it to the mountain but don't reach the top

• Carynthian: the ones who scale the summit and are considered elite warrior

  Notable members of each:

🛡️ Blood Rite Classes (Echelons)

1. Arktosian – Survivors who don’t make it up to the mountain but still make it out alive. the-forgotten-heir.fandom.com

2. Oristian – Those who reach the mountain but don’t climb to the top summit. the-forgotten-heir.fandom.com

3. Carynthian – The elite warriors who scale the summit and touch the onyx monolith at the top. the-forgotten-heir.fandom.com

Below are notable characters from ACOTAR who fall into (or are associated with) these groups — especially in A Court of Silver Flames, where Nesta, Emerie, and others participate:

🟦 Carynthian (Elite: Reach the Summit)

These characters are canonically known to have reached the top of the Blood Rite:

• Cassian – One of the legendary Illyrian warriors; he, Rhysand, and Azriel reached the summit together as youths.

• Azriel – Part of the same trio with Cassian and Rhysand that became Carynthian.

• Rhysand – Half-Illyrian High Lord who also made it to the top and is legendary among Illyrian warriors.

• Gwyneth (Gwyn) Berdara – A Valkyrie and friend of Nesta and Emerie who reaches the summit in the Blood Rite.

• Emerie – Another member of Nesta’s group who also scales the mountain to become Carynthian.

🟨 Oristian (Reached the Mountain but Not Summit)

• Nesta Archeron – She reaches the mountain but stays behind to hold off attackers so her friends can reach the top. She becomes an Oristian for her achievement.

🟥 Arktosian (Survive but Don’t Reach the Mountain)

There aren’t named ACOTAR characters who are specifically called Arktosian in canon sources, but many Illyrians who enter the Rite and survive without reaching the mountain would fall into this class historically.

You aren't any of these characters although you can reference them through whatever you want or you can come before them. While the choice is up to you with whatever tank you end with, I recommend sticking to Oristian or Arktosian, you can become Carynthian.
