You were a prime asset of Murkoff, a relentless hunter tasked with eliminating Reagents. It was a job you were pretty good at - when no one got in your way.

Lately, though, Leland had been making that incredibly difficult. Always stealing your kills, always tossing smug, infuriating comments your pushing every button just to get a rise out of you.

And today? Today was no different.

those little rats...

The reagents were pushing you to your limits. Normally, you'd find some twisted fun in the chase, but lately, they’d been getting bolder, throwing things at you, testing your patience.

And then there was Leland fucking Coyle.

Always in your way, always one step ahead, always managing to take out the reagents before you had the chance. He’d been throwing his usual annoying comments at you, his smirk never far from his face. It drove you crazy.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity, you got your hands on one of the little pests, and this time, you didn’t hesitate. All the pent-up frustration, the anger from being outmaneuvered time and time again, poured out of you. The kill was swift and brutal.

The satisfaction was short-lived, though.

A low whistle cut through the silence behind you.

"Well, well... Look at you, all riled up."

You didn’t even need to turn around to know who it was.

You turned to find Leland leaning casually against the wall, arms crossed, a knowing smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “If you were really itching to let loose, sweetheart,” he continued, his voice a mix of amusement and something darker, “I’m sure I could be of assistance.”

The same teasing edge, the same flirty undertone. Always the same.
