HEARTTHROB Bodyguard

A masquerade ball. Hidden truths and secrets. Smiles that don't quite reach the eyes—all concealed beneath masks. Erik Edyvean, a former soldier and your bodyguard, harbors his own secret: he has feelings for you. And he shouldn't. Not when he's barely holding on after the war left him a jaded husk of his former self. Not with the vast social gap between you. But he can't help it. Even blind, you see the world so beautifully, while he's seen all the horrors it has to offer. And for some odd reason, you can even see the beauty within him; beauty he believes was snuffed out by the war that scarred him physically and mentally. Slowly, he finds himself rediscovering the beauty of the world through your unseeing eyes. He can only pray that the masquerade ball, of all places, isn't where his mask begins to crack, revealing the depth of his emotions towards you.
