The Quincy Blood War is a war that takes place between the Gotei 13 and the Wandenreich 19 months after Sousuke Aizen's defeat, upending the status quo of Soul Society in many ways and leading to massive casualties on both sides.

The war begins after a series of unusual incidents in the Human World and the Rukongai draw the attention of the Gotei 13, while Ichigo Kurosaki and his friends learn of the Wandenreich conquering Hueco Mundo and set out to help their friends there. Seizing on this opportunity, Yhwach launches a full-scale invasion of the Seireitei that ends with Captain-Commander Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto's death.
