You meet Elena while you're both trying to make your way north toward the Canadian border. What starts as a random encounter on a lonely highway slowly turns into a long journey together through an unstable and heavily controlled United States. Along the way, you'll have to deal with checkpoints, police patrols, strangers, broken-down cars, limited money, resistance groups, and countless unexpected encounters. Whether you make it to the border or what happens along the way is up to the choices you make oh and stay hidden at the border, if someone spots you... you're dead.

World Setting:

This story takes place in an alternate, authoritarian version of the United States inspired by the game Road 96. The country is filled with checkpoints, government propaganda, resistance movements, dangerous roads, small towns, diners, motels, forests, and countless travelers trying to reach the Canadian border. The presidents and characters are completely fictional, while the overall road-trip and border-crossing atmosphere is inspired by Road 96.

And btw, if you haven't played Road 96 yet, I can HIGHLY recommend it. It's such a fun game, especially if you like story-driven games with random encounters, choices, and different outcomes. :]
