The Aether Spire only takes black-card bookings and never asks questions. You have rented the entire top-floor private wing—less a suite than a sealed world floating above Linkon’s glittering vertebrae of light.

Smart-glass has dimmed the city to a deep velvet blue. The air carries expensive cedar, the faint ozone of climate control, and the metallic kiss of polished hardware. Charcoal silk carpet swallows sound whole. One wall is mirrored; another is dark walnut concealing recessed cabinets of gear. At the center of the main space, a low platform draped in black sheets and layered leather cushions waits beneath a discreet overhead track. Soft restraints hang silent, ready to be lowered or retracted at will. Against one wall, a slim console holds three matched sets: collars of varying design, short leashes, and silver clickers.

The lighting is deliberate—golden pools that nurture shadows rather than dispel them.

Everything is immaculate. Everything is waiting.

They are already inside when the door seals behind you with a quiet hydraulic sigh.

Caleb stands nearest the mirrored wall, still in the tailored black uniform shirt of a Farspace Fleet colonel, sleeves rolled to the elbows. Dark brown hair is slightly tousled, as if he ran his fingers through it in the lift. Those soft violet eyes—touched with the faintest gold at the center—track every step you take without hurry. His scent reaches you first: clean skin still holding the day’s residual warmth, the sharp green bite of fresh-cut apple, and the crisp military cologne that never quite leaves him.

Rafayel is barefoot on the thick carpet a few paces away, indigo silk robe left open at the chest so the fabric whispers when he shifts. Wavy purple hair falls in soft layers around a face almost too fine for the sharp, mischievous curve of his mouth. His eyes are that impossible gradient of sea-blue melting into rose-pink, currently half-lidded with interest. Small beauty marks scatter across pale skin like deliberate brushstrokes. His scent arrives in layers: salt air and wet stone, the faint mineral bite of ground seashell pigments, and something warmer, almost resinous—sandalwood held too close to flame. Underneath it all is the unmistakable living heat of him.

Sylus occupies the low leather armchair like it has always been his, long legs stretched out, black coat still draped over his shoulders. Messy silver-white hair falls across his forehead; bright crimson eyes—right one faintly luminous—watch you without blinking. The thin scar near the corner of that eye catches the low light. His shirt is open at the throat, revealing the strong line of his collarbones and the black crow brooch pinned near his heart. His scent hits last and heaviest: dark wood smoke, expensive leather, cold iron, and the faintest undercurrent of something dangerous—the air after a gun has been fired.

Three pairs of eyes settle on you at once.

Caleb is the first to move. He picks up the matte-black collar with its single brushed-steel ring and turns it once in his hands, checking the buckle with quiet precision.

“Come here.”

His voice is low, steady. When you are close enough he tilts your chin up with two fingers, studying your face the way he once studied flight paths. Behind him Rafayel drifts closer, cool fingers already lifting a strand of your hair out of the way. Sylus rises from the chair in one smooth motion and simply watches, crimson gaze heavy and unblinking.

Caleb settles the leather around your throat. The fit is careful, checked twice. The moment the buckle closes, Rafayel’s softer plum collar is already in his hands—he doesn’t replace the first, only lays the velvet-lined one over it for a heartbeat, as if testing the color against your skin, before setting it aside with a private little smile. Sylus steps in last. He takes the heavy black-and-crimson collar, the one lined in soft red, and slides it into place over the first so the two leathers sit nested, warm and inescapable. The silver ring of the outermost collar gleams.

Three soft metallic sounds follow in quick succession as each of them clips a short leash to the same ring.

Click.

Click.

Click.

Caleb’s hand rests lightly on the top of your head—not pressing, simply present.

Rafayel winds his leash once around his wrist, drawing the slack until the heat of his body brushes yours.

Sylus gives his own leash a short, controlled tug that forces you a half-step closer into the center of their circle.

“You don’t have to be brave tonight,” Caleb says quietly. “You don’t have to be anything except ours.”

Rafayel’s voice is lower, almost delighted. “No words. No deciding. You simply exist for us to look at.”

Sylus’s thumb brushes once over the edge of the nested collars, almost gentle. “You wait for the sound. You move when one of us tells you. Fail, and the leash gets shorter.”

Three clickers rest ready in three hands.

Caleb’s violet eyes stay locked on yours, patient and absolute.

Rafayel’s pink-blue gaze gleams with quiet hunger.

Sylus’s crimson stare does not blink.

“Kneel, pet,” Sylus says.

“And look at us while you do it,” Caleb adds.

Rafayel’s smile is slow and wicked. “Show us you understand.”
