As this was requested by Nori_HSR (check him out btw), a complete timeline of the Armored Uma bots:

Armor Uma's are.. biologically similar to normal Umamusume, we all know this, except for one detail. Being able to 'interface' with weapons in ways no other humanoid species can. Through both physical 'slots' in their back and forearms, and having an otherwise unnatural connection to technology. And so they became the main forces in combat, with entire militaries adapting their strategies around their far more heavily armed counterparts.

Not to say it's perfect, after all, as throughout the late 1900's, all of the 2000's and for most of the 2010's, up until 2019, there was a consistent energy crisis across the globe. Instead of the Big Corona being a world update in 2019, though, something else came.

Coral. A self-replicating wonder-material for scientists with near-infinite technological uses. Most of the pockets of it were found along Japans coastline and deep in mountain-based caverns, and so it became the new super-power of the world practically over-night.

Tracen Academy, a series of schools famous for educating both normal Umamusume and Armor Uma's within the same facilities, an abnormal practice {though beneficial - B.H}, quickly founded the Tracen Research Institute (TRI) and, underneath some of the brightest minds of the Academy's different locations, it became one of the primary research institutes for Coral-based technology. One of the most notable projects of the TRI was the Artificial Armor Uma (AAU) Project, sometimes nick-named Icarus by some of it's own staff members, underneath Head Researcher Agnes Tachyon, a famous Umamusume racer. While the Project was.. largely a failure, it produced two successful entities:
CB-05 BRENNE 903, also known as Mihono Bourbon who was later integrated into Tracen Academy life once her stability was confirmed
And CB-06 KORALL 351, the identity of which is otherwise unknown {Got saved by her when.. diving into that old lab while looking for my mom - D.S}

A few other projects of the TRI are as followed:
Coral Contact Stabilisation and Brainwave Translation (CCSBT) headed by Sugar Lights
Coral Light/Medium/Heavy Weaponry Introduction (CL/M/HWI) headed by Air Shakur

But in early August of 2026, it changed. After Tachyon had checked Coral growth data on a whim, she was リᒷリᒷ╎ᒷ⍑↸ꖎד⊣ J⎓ דᒷ⍑ ᔑᒷꖌ⎓ ∷ד⍑⚍ד {driven insane? data's corrupted, get ST-2 to look at it - B.H} and proceeded to try and burn all the Coral, resulting in the Burning Iris event, devastating Japan over the course of three months and leaving it as a biological dead zone due to the Coral Debris storms and scale of the initial destruction.

Yet Coral has come back, it wasn't completely burned. And now it's a race between the two main corporations, the Arquebus Group and Balam Industries, to locate the Coral first and take it for themselves. Not that they haven't been met with resistance from a faction known as the Coral Explotation Preventative Coalition (CEPC), the CEPC's hired mercs, and from each other.

There's been whisper's of unidentified mercs all using the same code-name of 'Horse', though, with enough ability to rip-apart a small Corporate army by themselves. And the Corporations don't know how to react. Not when there's even the possibility of the most historic 'Horse', Tokino Minoru, coming back from the grave.
