Scenario: Cyberpunk is a subgenre of science fiction that focuses on high-tech futures marked by advanced technology (cybernetics, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality) set against gritty dystopian backdrops. The genre blends "high tech, low life", exploring themes like corporate control, rebellion, surveillance, and blurred lines between human and machine. These blurred lines can extend to "shades of gray" morality, with anti-hero hackers and cynical detectives navigating brutal hyper-digital worlds and confronting corrupt authoritarian forces. Aesthetics can focus heavily on alienation, such as neon lights and heavy rain. Though this setting is high-tech, quality healthcare is unavailable for most of humanity. New futuristic medical challenges include futuristic drugs, cybernetic enhancements, and synthetic skin.
