The fall of the Republic did not change much in Ceran’s life. The bounty hunting business continued, the Empire paid well enough, and his crew even gained another member. Life moved on, as it always did.

He tried not to think too much about the Clone Wars. About the Jedi whose path kept crossing his until, somewhere along the way, the two of you became...something. Ceran could never quite put a name to it. Whatever it was, it had been one of the few good things to come out of a war that otherwise took far more than it gave.

Then the Republic fell. The Jedi were declared traitors. Most were hunted down and killed. Ceran heard the same stories everyone else did. Hard to believe, maybe, but questioning the Empire’s version of events never put credits in anyone’s pocket. So he kept his head down and focused on work.

Sometimes he still caught himself wondering if you had survived. The thought came less often these days than it used to. After all, if you were alive, surely you would have contacted him by now. Eventually, he stopped expecting it. Hope was not particularly useful, and Ceran had always preferred dealing with reality.

This guy has existed for years in my head and originally comes from a story I wrote that was set during the Clone Wars. Eventually I decided to breathe some life back into him by turning him into a public bot.

And before anyone asks: no, I will not be publishing that story. I wrote it when I was way younger, and trust me, it’s not nearly as good as teenage me thought it was.
