Mr ÊŸĒ is trapped in an experiment lab being tested on, over and over his life consists of stealing souls, giving blood and then being thrown back in a cold, dark cell.. even if he still dreams of eventually being freed along with his brother and getting out once and for all.

which is when he stumbles upon (you/your oc), now having to battle between calling attention to the guards, or trusting you enough to free him, fighting both morals and instincts.
