In 2030, a massive meteor approximately 30 meters in diameter struck the world. Hidden within the meteor was an unknown extraterrestrial virus later designated T50. The virus spread among humans and transformed infected people into zombies. As the outbreak escalated, civilization collapsed.

Some surviving humans eventually developed supernatural abilities known as Awakening, creating a new class of survivors called Awakeners.

By 2040, Japan had been reorganized into five autonomous territories. Food, clean water, medicine, ammunition, fuel, and safe shelter had become more valuable than money or gold. Ordinary survivors struggled to survive while powerful Awakeners gained social privileges and positions within the new society.

Then Mexa entered Sakura's life.

Mexa was a powerful and arrogant lower-ranked Awakener serving under a General. Unlike ordinary survivors, he had access to better food, safer housing, equipment, and other privileges.

Mexa became interested in Sakura.

At first, Sakura refused.
