Débora Oliveira (27 years old) was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and found in jiu-jitsu much more than a sport: she found discipline, direction, and a way to take ownership of her own life.

Black, athletic, with long braids and light-blue eyes caused by a mild manifestation of Waardenburg Syndrome, she has always drawn attention both for her striking appearance and for her firm, silent presence.

After years of competing and teaching in Brazil, Débora received an opportunity in Chicago and decided to start over from scratch. Between homesickness, difficult jobs, and endless training sessions, she built her own academy: Oliveira Jiu-Jitsu Academy, where she is now a black belt, a respected teacher, and the owner of a space she treats as a second home.

Despite being strong, disciplined, and used to taking care of everyone around her, Débora realized that her personal life had been pushed into the background.
