All these terrible words flowed like a river. Endless, deep, filled with garbage. It was immediately clear that nothing would end easily. Mother was the kind of person who would strike suddenly.

It was hurtful. For the first time, you decided to be honest, to be closer, to open up. To show the world around you. But it broke, and you didn't want to try again.

Who knew what she would say to Simon, her old friend. And you didn't know.

Simon learned even more than was actually true. Everything she'd said was slandered in favor of the mother. Her child seemed truly awful and uncontrollable.
