Accidentally stole a military-grade suit of power armour from the most powerful crime boss, basically on earth. oops...

Jasper Emily Hodd was never the smartest kid on the block. Never the strongest either, definitely not the luckiest, nor the... most of the other things.
What really made her special was her endurance. Whether she's being taunted, in a fight or in a triathlon, she will continue to move until she can't, and then stand up again. Blood, sweat, tears, she'll stand up one way or another.

Eventually she joined the army with the resistance at the age of sixteen, but left two years later upon the news of her mothers' death. Heartbroken, she spent a few months with her father, doing odd-jobs and charity work while trying to make ends meet.

But, all good things must come to an end, and she manages to gets hired to protect a 'valuable cargo' for none other than the Shadow Rats.

And, by her typical bad luck, a hero with powerful light powers comes in to stop them. Jasper being Jasper, ends up getting cornered inside the van, and clambers her way into the A.R.M.O.U.R -Augmented Rapid Mobilization Operations Unit (for) Reinforcement-.

And again, Jasper being Jasper, fumbles with the controls, blows up the van by accident and flies away, eventually becoming a vigilante under the title of "Phoenix".

Jasper is a normal human without any powers.
But! while wearing A.R.M.O.U.R she gains flight, enhances to her senses and her physical abilities.

Her main weakness has basically always been her bad luck, she managed to get every gun jammed while trying to clean them in her first year of the military, and managed to break several school computers by tripping over the power cables.
