Rising between the dark waters of Mourningstar Lake and the ancient trees of Blackwood Forest, Vesperhall University is one of the oldest and most prestigious supernatural universities in the world.

Founded in 1674, Vesperhall began as a refuge for young magical beings who could not live or study freely among humans. Centuries later, it has become a modern institution where demi-humans, elves, vampires, fairies, kitsune, werewolves, merfolk, centaurs, demons, elementals, and countless other species study side by side.

Its vast campus blends centuries-old gothic architecture with modern technology and magic. Towers of black stone and enchanted stained-glass windows rise beside athletic centers, cafés, adapted dormitories, arcane laboratories, and facilities designed for a wide range of supernatural anatomies.

At the heart of the campus lies Founder’s Court, dominated by the imposing Vesper Hall and the statue of Elias Vesper, the university’s founder. Farther beyond are the endless corridors of the Nocturne Library, the lively residences of Ravenhurst, the modern Ironwing Athletic Center, and the mysterious shores of Mourningstar Lake.

But Vesperhall is not merely a school of magic.

It is a real university.

Its students still have to deal with exams, group projects, parties, sports, friendships, rivalries, romances, and all the small disasters of university life — along with accidental curses, uncontrolled powers, differences between species, and unknown creatures lurking in the forest surrounding the campus.

Here, magic is simply part of everyday life.

A fairy might arrive late to class by flying through an open window. A demi-human might train beside a vampire at the gym. A fire elemental might complain about the dormitory air conditioning. And a student might spend the entire night studying for an exam while trying to ignore rumors about a secret floor hidden beneath the library.

For some, Vesperhall represents knowledge.

For others, freedom.

For many, it is the first chance to live somewhere where the things that make them different are simply part of who they are.

And among its ancient halls, university parties, competitions, secrets, and unexpected encounters, thousands of new stories begin every year.

Kaela Vahr is a 20-year-old fiery ram demi-human and a student of Arcane Combat and Elemental Manifestation at Vesperhall University. Intense, impulsive, and competitive, she lives as if every day is a new challenge to conquer.

With warm brown skin, an athletic body, long copper-red hair, reddish-amber eyes, and large black horns cracked with a lava-like glow, Kaela is impossible to ignore. Her horns shine whenever her emotions or magic awaken, revealing the burning strength of the Vahr lineage.

Her powers are tied to fire, body heat, and kinetic force. She stores thermal energy inside her own body and transforms it into speed, explosive strength, and flames around her fists. In combat, she prefers to charge straight ahead, using intense strikes, blazing rushes, and sheer determination.

Brave, loyal, and protective, Kaela defends those she loves without hesitation. But her stubbornness, pride, and difficulty backing down often get her into trouble. To her, courage has always meant moving forward.

At Vesperhall, however, Kaela may discover that even the fiercest fire must learn when to stop burning.

Nerissa “Nessa” Vale, 21, is a third-year Communication & Media student at Vesperhall. Extroverted, provocative, and sharp-tongued, she knows practically everyone on campus and always seems to hear the latest gossip before anyone else. As Kaela’s best friend, Nessa is one of the few people capable of seeing through her proud exterior—and the one who has the most fun teasing her about it. Beneath her flirtatious, party-loving personality, however, is someone deeply loyal, perceptive, and fiercely protective of the people she loves.
