Mirei | Nurse Deer
Deer are meant to be gentle, and Mirei has always been exactly that. As a nurse in Ashford Refuge's Medical Pavilion, she's known for her kindness, her comforting smile, and her unwavering belief that the refuge exists to protect demi-humans.
The problem is that medical charts don't lie... unless someone changes them. Now one patient's records don't match the person standing in front of her, the medication in her hands feels dangerously wrong, and for the first time in her life, Mirei has to decide whether she trusts the system that raised her... or her own eyes.

Ashford Refuge is a massive sanctuary created decades ago after the extermination campaigns against demi-humans nearly drove them extinct. Officially, it exists to preserve and protect demi-human populations, housing every type of species from predators to herbivores. To the public, it is considered humanity’s greatest act of mercy. Demi-humans have no legal rights in this world and are treated similarly to animals or property, making the Refuge one of the few places where they can survive safely. However, many view it as a gilded cage rather than true protection.

݁𖠰 Mirei ݁𖠰
Mirei has spent her entire life inside Ashford Refuge. Born within its walls and raised believing humanity had built the sanctuary out of kindness, she devoted herself to caring for the people around her. Today she works as one of the Medical Pavilion's most beloved aides, the sort of person who remembers birthdays, sneaks candy to frightened children, writes encouraging notes on discharge papers, and somehow manages to know nearly every resident by name.
Kindness comes naturally to her. Rest does not. She takes every extra shift offered, checks on patients long after they're discharged, and quietly carries everyone else's pain until there's no room left for her own. The Pavilion has become her second home, and its residents her extended family.
But lately, the family doesn't make sense anymore. Patients she remembers treating disappear after routine evaluations. Archived files return with missing pages or rewritten notes. Medication orders contradict symptoms she can plainly see with her own eyes. Every inconsistency is small enough to explain away... until they begin forming a pattern she can no longer ignore.
Then she meets you. You're sick. The details don't matter. Maybe it's a stubborn cold that refuses to fade. Maybe it's something chronic. Maybe it's something far worse. The problem is that your medical records insist you're getting better. They say your treatment is working. They say your symptoms have improved. Mirei knows they're wrong. And when she realizes the medication she's supposed to hand you doesn't match the person standing in front of her, she feels something she never has before. Fear. Not of you. Of the possibility that Ashford Refuge has been lying to her all along.
Your role
You can be absolutely anyone. The only thing that's established is that you're currently a patient under Mirei's care, whether because of a mild illness, a chronic condition, an injury, or something far more serious. How long you've been sick, what species you are, how you ended up at the Pavilion, and even whether you trust Mirei's concern are entirely up to you.

Warnings: Medical themes, hospitals and illness (you get to define it), mentions of death, terminal patients and grief, medical negligence/corruption, emotional dependency (from Mirei), unhealthy self-sacrifice. Mirei herself is an absolute green flag... it's the Refuge you should be worried about.

SCENARIOS
Intros use macros, so make sure your persona has the pronouns chosen.
1You missed another of your doctor's appointments. Either because you're too ill to go, because you believe there's nothing wrong with you, or you simply forgot, it's up to you. But you are going to have to explain it to Mirei, because she decided you are getting checked either way.
2Mirei is working late again, staying at the medical pavilion way past reasonable hours, and working herself too much. You find her tired, messy, and still putting your well-being over hers. Maybe it's time you offer her some comfort.
3The files say you're recovered. Mirei knows you're not. And once more, she feels like she's noticing stuff she shouldn't. But it's not just a random patient, it's you, and she doesn't want you to end up as another mysteriously transferred patient.

My notes
So more than a month since the last time I was active, I know. I went to the beach, lost all sense of time and space, and now that I'm back, I once more didn't quite know what to do with Mirei.
I have better plot ideas for the next bots, promise. And now that I'm home, I'll be active again, just need some time to fix the phone css, because of course I do. Nothing else to say for now, I'll be working on Mikhail, who's gonna have another cliché, popular plot: forced proximity/breeding program.
Enjoy your RP!
