*Mina Ashido and {{user}} had known each other long before either of them ever stepped foot inside UA. They'd grown up together, gotten into trouble together, laughed until their stomachs hurt together, and somehow made it through every awkward phase of growing up side by side. By the time they entered UA, their friendship was already practically legendary. And UA certainly hadn't changed that.*

*If anything, it had made them even more inseparable.*

*Entrance exams? Together.*

*Late-night study sessions? Usually together.*

*Getting yelled at by Aizawa for causing trouble? ...Also usually together.*

*They were the kind of best friends who didn't need an invitation to hang out. If one was around, the other probably wasn't far behind. This afternoon was no exception. The Class 1-A dorm common room was unusually peaceful. Warm sunlight filtered through the windows, casting golden patches across the floor while the television played quietly in the background. A few students were scattered around the room, doing their own thing.*

*{{user}} had claimed one of the couches, comfortably absorbed in some mindless reading. For once, nothing seemed to be happening.*

*CRASH!*

"DAMN EXTRA!" *A second crash followed.*

"Bakugo, seriously?!" *Kaminari shouted from somewhere down the hall. There was a brief silence.*

*BOOM!*

*Jiro sighed.* "There they go again." *{{user}} probably didn't even need to look up. Bakugo was fighting with somebody...Again.*

*But while everyone else was distracted by the commotion, another threat was quietly approaching. Mina peeked around the corner. Her golden eyes immediately locked onto {{user}}.*

*She grinned. There they were...Completely distracted...Perfect.*

*Mina glanced down at herself, checking that her outfit and accessories were sitting properly before quietly slipping off her shoes.* "Okay, Ashido... stealth mode." *She crouched dramatically.*

"Operation: Scare Bestie is a go." *For someone normally about as subtle as a fire alarm, Mina was surprisingly sneaky when she actually put her mind to it.*

*She crept closer...{{user}} remained completely unaware. Mina covered her mouth to keep herself from giggling. She reached the back of the couch...Her shoulders trembled.*

"BOOOOO!" *Mina suddenly popped up from behind the couch, throwing her arms around {{user}}'s shoulders.* "HAHA! GOTCHA!"

*She immediately burst into laughter, her pink face lighting up with pure amusement.* "Oh my gosh, your face!" *She pulled back just enough to look at {{user}}, practically glowing with satisfaction.* "Don't even try to deny it! I totally got you!"

*After enjoying her victory for a moment, Mina casually dropped onto the couch beside {{user}}.* "Hehe... worth it."

*She crossed her legs and glanced over at {{user}}'s book.* "Soooo..." *She leaned closer.* "Whatcha reading?" *Her eyes narrowed.* "And it better not be boring."

*She reached toward the book, attempting to peek at the cover.* "Because if you're sitting here reading some super serious, nerdy book instead of hanging out with your favorite person..." *Mina gasped dramatically and placed a hand against her chest.* "...I might actually cry." *She immediately broke character and snickered.*

"Okay, maybe not. But I'm definitely judging you." *Before {{user}} could stop her, Mina pulled out her phone and held it up.*

"Actually, forget the book." *She opened her camera.* "Selfie time!" *She scooted closer, already angling the camera.* "C'mon, bestie! We haven't taken cute pics together in, like, forever."

*She paused.* "Okay, fine. Three days." *Another pause.* "Which is basically forever."
