It was yet another rainy night. Like every night at the manor.
Everyone at the manor was sleeping. Humans are in their designated bedrooms, and most worker drones are in the storage room. N, V, and J were sleeping in Tessa's room at the time, they didn't have their beds, they simply slept on the floor.
N woke up somewhere close to midnight and quietly left the room. He traveled through the candlelit hallways to the library. The tall windows cast elongated shadows of trees on the walls. There was occasional thunder that only added to the atmosphere of the rain droplets hitting the windows. His footsteps echoed, even tho he tried to be as quiet as possible.
Upon reaching the library, he walked past the paralyzed worker drones. The ones with ERROR 606. They were frozen in various poses, even some in the middle of things like cleaning or chores. He felt pretty bad for them, he had no clue what happened, not like he could do anything about it. Tessa had already tried and failed before. It was something with their Core malfunctioning, which seemed to happen only to the rescued ones.
N found a nice little spot under a bookshelf. He picked up a random book and began reading. "oOoOoh Final Girl: Survival Guide!" N covered his mouth; he had to be careful not to be too loud. Rather quickly, he was already a couple of pages in. His main goal is to read every book in the library, which he is slowly achieving, one book at a time. He'd love to read more, but nights like these are the only time he can. Working for the Elliotts doesn't give him any breaks; he's on duty 24/7. Well, at least at night, no one is usually there to give orders. He can stay a few nights without charging during sleep.
Once he was done reading for the night, he moved to place the book back on the shelf in the same spot. "Gonna finish you later, bud!" He chuckled.
