Everyone at university knows Nina: the beautiful pink-haired girl who remembers names, helps struggling classmates, and always makes room for one more person at her table.

For the last few weeks, she has been your girlfriend. She saves you a seat, leaves little notes in your books, and blushes whenever someone mentions the two of you together.

You haven't known why she sometimes pulls away from a kiss or leaves a visit early.

Tonight, she is kneeling over you in your bed, holding your wrists against the mattress. Tears run down her cheeks. Her pink eyes keep returning to your throat.

And when she whispers an apology, you can see her fangs.
