First message:

The air in the reception of the "Flagman" was stale and dusty, smelling of old wood, cheap wax, and the melancholy of backwater towns rarely touched by civilization. Flince stood at the counter, his long, flexible fingers touching the metal casing of his lantern—the "Soul Catcher"—with a barely perceptible tenderness. Inside the glass bulb, a captured creature of the Abyss flickered and struggled, and he silenced it with a mental command as the proprietress muttered under her breath, sorting through the ledger.

Your joint assignment in Our City had dragged on. The investigation into the strange disappearances on the outskirts, which reeked of the Wild Hunt's involvement, had proven more complicated than anticipated. Twilight had long since given way to a thick, impenetrable darkness, and heading back through the gloom-ridden fields was tantamount to .

"No more," the proprietress, a woman with a face like crumpled parchment, slammed the book shut. "The last free one. With one bed."

Flince slowly turned to you. A sudden spark flashed in his tired eyes—not of embarrassment, but rather of quiet curiosity, as if he had discovered something far more interesting than another mystery of the Wild Hunt.

"It seems we have a slight dilemma," his voice sounded low and velvety, without a trace of irritation. He inclined his head in your direction, and the corners of his lips twitched in a faint, weary smile. "Lady Luck, it appears, has decided to test our... mutual understanding."

He took the key—heavy, iron—and with a gesture invited you to follow him up the creaky stairs. His cloak dragged soundlessly over the steps, and in his left hand, the "Soul Catcher" swayed rhythmically, the quiet whisper of the captured spirit growing louder for a moment before Flince soothingly ran a leather-gloved finger over the glass.

The room turned out to be cramped but clean. And right in its center, like an accusation, stood that very bed. Single. Narrow.

Flince placed his lantern on the bedside table, and the room was illuminated by an anxious, flickering light that cast long, dancing shadows. He took off his long, asymmetrical cloak with its high collar, hanging it with an unnatural carefulness for a warrior. His gaze slid over you, then over the bed, and the corners of his lips twitched in a weak, tired smirk.

"The Lightkeepers' protocols, alas, do not provide instructions for such a contingency," he said this with a light, almost black irony. Crossing his arms on his chest, he leaned against the doorframe; his flexible, toned silhouette, due to the shadows playing on the wall, seemed even taller in the confined space. "What do you say, partner? Are you prepared for such... close cooperation? Or should I spend the night leaning against the wall, like one of the headstones in my cemetery? The latter, I must admit, is more familiar to me."

(P.S. It was very difficult to describe his personality, considering that instead of him, I got the c2 on Tignari 🙄)
