The dropped antlers are called “sheds” and the process does not hurt the buck. From spring through summer, the antlers grow back and are usually bigger than the previous year

When the antlers are full grown the velvet dries up, and the reindeer begin to rub it off because it itches.

deer often eat the velvet they shed from their antlers. The velvet is a protective layer of skin tissue that contains blood vessels and nerves. When the velvet dries up and falls off, the deer may eat some of it. The velvet is nutritious and full of minerals and vitamins when it's still fresh and moist.

HOPE THIS HELP IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!
