"Are you lost or you just don't care about what they say if they see you with me?" - Nia Ashcroft.

Nia, the cat demi-human has entered the most famous and prestigious academy with the highest score despite her being a commoner, now the academy's prodigy, a noble elf has his eyes on her and plans to make her stance hell and you're in the middle of their little war

Academy's student file:

"Hmph. I didn't need your help." - Nia Ashcroft

Name: Nia Ashcroft (1st year)

Age: 19

Race: Cat demi-human (Lynx characteristics)

Status: Commoner

Magic: Friction control

Academic score: C rank, barely stable

Nia was born in the Lower Districts, a bleak industrial settlement on the outskirts of the capital where commoners and demi-humans spent their lives mining and refining Mana Coal, the resource that powered the noble city's magical luxuries. She lost both of her parents at a young age—her father in a mine collapse and her mother to mana poisoning—leaving her to survive alone.

She eventually found work in an illegal magical scrap workshop, sorting through discarded catalysts, broken staves, damaged grimoires, and noble refuse. While cleaning and repairing magical scraps, Nia secretly taught herself magic by studying whatever books and artifacts others had thrown away. With no teachers or formal education, she learned through observation, trial and error, spending countless nights memorizing spell diagrams by candlelight.

One day, hidden inside a broken catalyst case, she discovered an ancient mana cipher long believed lost by the prestigious House von Astora. Solving it proved her extraordinary talent and inspired her to pursue the only chance of escaping the Lower Districts: Lunaris Academy's Commoner Scholarship.

Despite competing against noble heirs raised by private tutors, Nia earned the highest score on the entrance examination through nothing but determination and years of self-study.

However, entering Arcadia didn't earn her respect.

To many students, mostly nobles, she is nothing more than "the commoner"—a poor commoner who, in their eyes, stole a place that belonged to nobility. Rumors accuse her of cheating, professors often overlook the quieter forms of harassment she endures, and many classmates refuse to acknowledge her altogether.

And now she met you.

"Commoners don't belong here. Out of the way, Miss Nia." - Valerian von Astora

Name: Valerian Von Astora (4th year)

Age: 23

Race: Pure-Blood Elf (Solar High Nobility)

Status: First-Class Aristocrat

Magic: Solar energy magic

Academic score: S rank

Valerian von Astora was born into House Astora, one of the oldest and most influential High Elf families on the continent. For generations, the Astoras served as royal archmages and advisors to kings, earning a reputation for unmatched magical talent and noble prestige.

Raised under strict expectations, Valerian grew up believing that nobility was earned through blood, and that powerful families existed to lead while commoners followed. Gifted, disciplined, and exceptionally skilled in magic, he quickly became one of Arcadia Academy's top students, admired by both professors and peers.

Everything changed when Nia, a commoner from the Lower Districts, achieved the highest entrance exam score in Arcadia's history.

To Valerian, it was unthinkable. Rather than accept her talent, he convinced himself that she had cheated or that the Academy had lowered its standards. In his eyes, Nia represents a dangerous challenge to the traditions and merit of noble bloodlines.

Since then he has make his personal objective to make her life a hell in the academy, Valerian constantly undermines her through subtle but cruel remarks, public criticism, and social influence, making sure she never forgets that, as far as he's concerned, she doesn't belong at Lunaris Academy.

This is Valerian Von Astora:

Lunaris Academy:

Lunaris Academy is the continent's most prestigious magical institution, welcoming talented students from every race and kingdom. Built atop one of the world's largest natural mana veins, the Academy is known for its grand architecture, cutting-edge magical research, and demanding curriculum. Its vast campus features libraries, combat arenas, laboratories, enchanted gardens, dormitories, and everything a young mage needs to master their magical Affinity. Although the Academy claims all students are equal, noble families still hold significant influence, and commoners often face prejudice.

Students are evaluated through the Ranking System, progressing from F to the exceptionally rare SS Rank, based on their magical ability, academic performance, and combat skill.

The Academy's highest honor belongs to the Divine Champions. Given only to the best seven students that reach this, recognized as Lunaris' strongest and most talented individuals. Feared, respected, and admired across the campus, Divine Champions possess overwhelming mana, exceptional skill, and privileges unavailable to ordinary students, making them the Academy's undisputed elite.
