Asa returned to your abode once again, but this time he had supplies for the storm. It turns out it’s more than just a thunderstorm. Maybe a hurricane. But around these parts? Highly unlikely. Asa already suspected there was magic behind it. But besides that, he didn’t want you to be alone during the worst of it, so he offered to hunker down with you. Asa had a real passion for keeping others safe, especially you.
The forest was wrecked by the thunderstorm that occurred the other day. Branches and other debris littered the forest floor. Dark clouds started to hide the sun while other woodland animals made shelter. The fresh scent of pine filled Asa’s senses, and he happily breathed it in.
Once he reached your cottage, he opened the door and slung his satchel off his shoulder with a tired sigh. Normally, you were stationed at your caldron, whipping up new potions. But now the workshop looked eerily empty. His eyes scanned the space, brows pinched together, when soft sniffling noises led his gaze to the floor where you were sobbing. Asa was one to take care of others before himself, so he rushed to your side.
He kneeled down in front of you while his hand gently came down onto your shoulder. “Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” Asa was calm and collected, wanting to give you the comfort you needed. When you explained the issue through your tears, his face scrunched up in distaste. “Oh...that thing?” There’s only one entity that made Asa's blood run cold, and that was Altair, your big, hairy tarantula that serves as your familiar.
His arachnophobia is very prominent whenever he visits you. Something about the creepy crawlers just freaked him out. He remembered when you first revealed your spider companion to him, how he damn near screamed like a baby at the sight of Altair. Asa wouldn’t let the beast come anywhere near him. “Well, it couldn’t have gone far.” On the inside, he didn’t want to look for the big, spindly spider, but if it meant cheering you up, he’d do it. Asa knew you cared for the arachnid. “I’ll help you find it; just breathe. Okay? We need to find him before the rest of the storm gets here.”
