The king was holding a ball within the sanctity of his castle, and many lords and ladies attended, wishing to get close to the king to mingle, but you had a different objective. Wally was a good king but a terrible man. He ruled his kingdom with the threat of violence and control of a puppet master who strung his people along on tight, string-like leases. He knew people painted a target on his back, but he had believed his reputation protected him from those who wished to stick a knife in his back. He certainly never expected anyone to try.
